Tips for Delicious Cooking!
1. Heat the empty pot over medium-low heat. 2. Add cooking oil and gently shake the pot to evenly coat the surface with oil. 3. Add the required amount of oil for cooking to prevent sticking.
Fully heat the pot before adding ingredients to minimize sticking.
How to Prevent the Iron Pot from Sticking?
Skip the detergent as it strips the oil film. leading to sticking. Just wash with warm water and a sponge after use. Be gentle to keep the oil film intact.
Note: When wiping the pot. Black carbon powder might appear on the pot. It’s normal for cast iron or iron wok to develop a protective black oxide layer from oil and heat. Excessive blackening could indicate oil buildup or burnt food. though.
If the Oil Film Peels or Rusts
If the oil film peels or rust appears. clean the affected areas with steel wool. Rinse. dry. and then apply a thin layer of cooking oil while the pot is still warm. This will help prevent further rusting without affecting the pot’s performance.
Do Not Wash with Detergent After seasoning!
After seasoning a new pot. avoid detergent. Clean with sponges or steel wool. Detergent removes the oil film. undoing the seasoning. If used by mistake. re-season the pot.
